Life is a Zoo

Erik had a four day weekend this past weekend for St. Patrick's Day so we decided to take Ade to the Jacksonville Zoo. Our plan was to drive down on Thursday, spend the night, go to the zoo on Friday and head home after grabbing dinner. This plan did not happen and it's probably good that it didn't.

We got to town so early on Thursday that we decided to just go straight to the zoo - it was a better plan than sitting in the hotel room for 5 hours until bed time. It was extremely hot and I was not dressed for it. We spent a lot of time sitting down and refreshing ourselves with cold drinks. Most of the animals were in hiding, but Adrianna did get to see some penguins, a turtle, and the giraffes.

We finished with the zoo and headed home the next morning after grabbing breakfast at Bob Evans, Erik's favorite eatery (we do not have one here).

On our way home, we stopped on base to visit with the Budweiser horses, who were in town for the St. Patty's Day parade.

Upon entering our home, we heard some noise... it sounded like a shower running. We followed the noise all the way back to the master bathroom, opened the door and were greeted with a face full of water. While we were gone, the plastic on/off knob on the sink had exploded and water was shooting out of it like a fountain. Half our house was flooded. It was late on a Friday afternoon, so it became a mad dash to call our home's management company to get the proper people in here. The plumber came, followed by the water removal company. Erik moved everything from the back rooms out into the kitchen, and our mattress and box spring were set up in the living room. The water was extracted and we were given orders to keep the a/c and these giant fans running all weekend 24 hours a day.

Poor Adrianna hadn't had a nap all day and she crashed in her daddy's lap while all the hoopla was going on.
